In 1904 the company, Nippon Toki Gomei Kaisha (it changed its name to "Noritake" in 1981), was established in the village of Noritake, near Nagoya in Japan, to create western style dinnerware for export. From this time, the company started to grow very quickly, and in the decades that followed, it continued to perfect its production capabilities, and expanded its market worldwide.
