About Merchant Hall

Merchant Hall (ABN: 40 944 815 660) is a family owned business run by Jason and Maria Lyster. The business is based in Camberwell, a suburb of Melbourne, in Victoria, Australia, and the business commenced in 2008. At this stage, our homewares and giftware business is an internet only business.

Merchant Hall is committed to caring for our community and for the environment. We believe we have a responsibility to support the community and environment that supports us. We named our homewares and giftware business, Merchant Hall, after the early merchants in Europe, who travelled to far off places in search of beautiful and exotic wares to bring home to sell. Our aim is for Merchant Hall to grow to resemble one of the old merchant halls, stocked full of beautiful and exquisite homewares and giftware.

Jason and Maria both have many years of experience working in and with businesses. We decided to start our own business in homewares and giftware due to our love of good quality homewares. Buying good quality homewares really makes a difference - quality homewares may cost more to start with, but if you buy the right pieces, you have pieces that will last a lifetime; in fact, pieces that you can pass on to your family. Good quality products generally last longer, perform better, and look and feel better:

Some of the dinnerware & tableware brands sold by Merchant Hall are collectors’ items because of their quality, unique designs, rich history and worldwide brand recognition - eg brands such as Denby and Noritake. Noritake even has a museum in the USA.
